The Baylor Bears got the victory on Saturday … but said victory was filled with bad news.
Seth Russell went down to injury.

It remains to be seen how long he will be out, but the news is in and it’s not looking good. Not for Baylor’s Big 12 title hopes. Not for Baylor’s College Football Playoff hopes. And certainly not for Russell’s Heisman hopes.
In the grand scheme of things, LSU RB Leonard Fournette is leading the pack. Studs like Russell were closing in on Fournette, but the LSU Tiger is still the top dog leaving Week 8 — no questions asked.

Baylor still remains a top team in college football and it has arguably the best offense (the numbers would certainly suggest that). Unfortunately, the Bears still have to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs and Oklahoma Sooners. All three of those teams still have a shot at making the playoff and two of the three are undefeated.
The Bears’ schedule is about to get brutal and it remains a mystery how much they can do without their Heisman contender.
The questions are now rolling in for this team.
